David is planning his summer holidays. He calls a travel agency to get some information.
Listen to his conversation with the travel agent. Complete the information about the tour the travel agent offers. Fill in the gaps with the appropriate words or numbers. You will hear the recording twice.
Travel agent: Hello. Trafalgar Tourist Agency. Can I help you?
David: Oh, hello. I saw your advertisement in the paper today and I thought I’d phone to find out a bit more.
Travel agent: Yes, certainly. Anything in particular?
David: I wonder if you could help me. My brother and I are planning to go on holiday abroad in early September. I just want a holiday tour for about two weeks or so somewhere at a seaside resort. But, you know, my brother loves busy holidays with lots of museums and sightseeing. So, we’re looking for something that is a combination of both.
Travel agent: Have you made up your mind about where to go?
David: Actually, not yet.
Travel agent: What would you say about Greece, for example? Have you ever travelled to Greece?
David: No, but it sounds great to me.
Travel agent: Are you interested in package holidays or you prefer to travel on your own?
David: Oh, package, of course. You know all that hotel and tickets reservations ...
Travel agent: I see. We can offer you a ten-day holiday showing you the best of Athens. There’s comfortable accommodation. You can stay at a hotel or choose a private home. And the food is, of course, first class. We’re sure you’ll agree that the meals are excellent.
David: Er, how much is it?
Travel agent: Our price varies from ?1,300 to ?2,500. And that includes everything. Your ticket includes return flights with British Airways from London, breakfast, lunch and dinner, excellent accommodation. The price can also include a full programme of excursions and the services of a tour manager throughout your stay.
David: Well, that’s great.
Travel agent: Well, could you just give me your address, so that I can send you some of our free travel brochures?
David: Sure, 14 Mendip Crescent.
Travel agent: OK. Now your name is ...?
David: David Trew.
Travel agent: Right. I’ll post some brochures today. And you can also visit our website: www.trafalgarholiday.com.
David: Thank you very much. Goodbye.
Travel agent: Goodbye.
