Roger Bacon — an English philosopher who was in favour of the scientific method. He was also known as Doctor Mirabilis, which means "wonderful teacher" in Latin. One can see the statute of Roger Bacon in the Oxford University Museum. The years 1214-1292 are not exact, but most historians agree on them.
